Film making has changed a great deal since the days of silent, black and white pictures. New technologies have made it possible to make films with many special effects shots and sound effects that help make pictures more realistic and dramatic. What happens when a film is retold over a period of many years-does the new technology make the modern films more interesting and fun to watch than the older versions Or does it take away from the subject matter of the film Are they better or the same than the old ones I am going to compare and contrast three movies: ?Here Comes Mr. Jordan?, ?Heaven Can Wait?, and ?Down to Earth? to try and answer these questions.
The subject matter of all three films is exactly the same: the main characters are good guys who have a goal that is really important to them. They are killed before their time, and reincarnated into a new body. They develop a love interest that inspires them to accept, temporarily, a body they do not really want. In the end they all achieve their original goal and have the strong possibility of being with the woman they love.
